According to residential brokerage firm Coldwell Banker, the famous home that housed the protagonist of the Christmas classic "Home Alone" is on the sales market with an asking price of $2.4 million.
John Abendshien, the previous owner of the home, said the Winnetka, Illinois, property has served he and his family well.
"This property has been home to our family for more than 20 years, and has been a perfect location for us to raise our daughter," said Abendshien. "There is such a strong sense of community in Winnetka and we will always have fond memories of the fun we've had here and the many people we've come to know and love."
According to the listing agent of the house, the property has an array of amenities, including two grand suites, a gourmet eat-in kitchen, a wood-burning fireplace and an extravagant sitting room.
Besides the prime home furnishings, the family who winds up moving into the Illinois property will be the new homeowners of what's become something of an institution in Christmas film classics.
