The Winnetka mansion is on sale for $1.95 million, according to the Chicago Tribune. The owners, John and Cynthia Abendshien, allowed filmmakers to use the home for the first "Home Alone" movie and the sequel, but are now relocating.
The Abendshiens placed the house on the market in May for $2.4 million, but reduced the asking price to $2.18 million in June. Now, another reduction in price has the mansion at $1.95 million, the Tribune reported.
"It's a classic Georgian that is incredibly well-balanced," listing agent Marissa Hopkins of Coldwell Banker said to the source. "It's a convenient location, on a half-acre within a couple of blocks of town and the train."
The home, which was built in 1921, features four bedrooms, hand-painted dining room walls, a Joliet-designed kitchen and four sun porches.
The reduction in price comes in the same week as the widow of the film's writer and producer, John Hughes, placed the home the couple once shared on the market.
The median list price for a Winnetka home is $1.15 million, according to Zillow.com. The median sales price is $912,000.
