The Los Angeles Times reported that Quaid sold his equestrian estate in Pacific Palisades, California, for $9.5 million, after it was originally placed on the market for nearly twice that amount at $16.9 million.
The home, which was built in 2004, has a French country-style design and sits on two acres, the Times reported. Included on the two acres are a second house, which can be used as a guest home, as well as a studio, barn, corral and year-round creek.
The main house is 8,400 square feet and has eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The second house and studio has 2,158 square feet of living space and has a fireplace that overlooks the swimming pool and spa, the source stated. The 57-year-old actor converted the maids' quarters above the kitchen to a gym.
Quaid has appeared in more than 75 titles, according to IMDB.com. Quaid is known for his roles in movies such as "The Day After Tomorrow," "Any Given Sunday" and "Wyatt Earp."
The actor is packing up to move to Texas to be closer to his family, according to the Times.
The average home value in Pacific Palisades is $1.45 million, according to Zillow.
