Elizabeth Taylor's Bel Air home has been sold.
There's no word yet on who will be moving in, but Elizabeth Taylor's Bel Air, California, home has been sold.
The late screen icon's home was featured in the July 2011 issue of Architectural Digest. According to the magazine, Taylor bought the house in the early 1980s and hired interior designer Waldo Fernandez to redecorate it last year. The 7,000 square foot house occupies 1.27 acres and featured a trophy room where Taylor displayed her multiple Academy Awards. It was listed for $8.6 million and the Hollywood Reporter says it sold in 33 days.
On the other coast, the real estate market in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, is seeing plenty of action, the Boston Herald reports.
The Herald says 93-year-old TV newsman Mike Wallace, too infirm to take advantage of his Vineyard Haven summer home, has put in on the market for $8 million. The listing agent told the Herald the house has six bedrooms, five baths and occupies a 1.4 acre beachfront property. Another waterfront house, owned by Dumb & Dumber director Peter Farrelly, has been listed at $5.5 million.
As for relocations to the island, the Herald says Private Practice actor Amy Brenneman and her husband, film and TV director Brad Silverling, bought a $4.3 million summer home on Tisbury Great Pond.
