Tony Danza and Hulk Hogan, two icons of 1980s pop culture, have put their homes on the market, according to real estate company Trulia.
Danza is selling the Malibu home he moved into 24 years ago while starring in the TV sitcom Who's the Boss. The 5-bedroom, 5-bath beachfront property is listed at $9.1 million. Trulia reports the master suite takes up the whole second floor and includes a private ocean-view deck. Danza is poised to make a handsome profit, if the house sells near the list price. According to Trulia, he purchased the residence for about $1.2 million.
Hogan, figurehead of the World Wrestling Federation's WrestleMania craze in the 80s, is asking $9.24 million for his Belleair, Florida, home. The property will be familiar to fans of the recent VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best, which followed the goings-on at the 17,145 square foot spread. Trulia describes the construction as a "manor home" with eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms and views of the Intercoastal Waterway and Clearwater Pass. Given the current asking price, it looks like the Hulk might be KO'd by the tough Florida housing market: the property has previously been listed for $25 million and $10.9 million.
Declining Florida house prices can be attributed in part to a high volume of distressed properties on the market. Recent RealtyTrac numbers show one in every 372 Florida housing units is in foreclosure.
