Rodriguez, the New York Yankees third baseman, is reportedly close to owning a 3,600-square-foot penthouse on the upper West Side.
In a statement issued by Extell Development - the company that built the building Rodriguez' unit is housed in - said the Yankees third basemen "loved the building, the park and the water views, but we think that the clincher was the baseball field outside the front door."
The bachelor pad has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths and comes fully equipped with entertainment features like a theater, gym, spa, wet bar and basketball court.
The advertised price for the swank apartment is listed at $6.5 million.
With an annual salary in excess of $27 million, Rodriguez doesn't have to worry too much about finances, but the New York City area is consistently among the most expensive regions of the country to live in. According to the National Association of Homebuilders, approximately one-fourth of homes sold in New York in the fourth quarter last year were affordable to those earning the region's median income level.
