If it's time to buy a new home in 2011, WalletPop
recommends loading the moving trucks
and relocating to one of 10 cities the website deems, in no particular order, the best to live in this year.
The website states Austin, Texas, is the "Best All-Around City" to move to in 2011, based on the city's college-town feel, low unemployment rate and increasing population and job market, adding "nobody does BBQ better than Texas."
Notable cities on the list include Deerfield Beach, Florida, which WalletPop calls the "Most Affordable Town With a View," Woodbury, Minnesota, also known as the "Best Place to Raise Kids" and Portland, Oregon, the "Best City for Gen-Y."
Labeled the "Best City, Period, Price Be Damned," San Francisco was added to the list for several reasons, including its architecture, nightlife and the Golden Gate Bridge.
According to Altos Research
, as of January 2, the median single-family home price in San Francisco is $724,544, the median price per square foot is approximately $474 and there are approximately 793 residential properties on the market.
