Moving to Midwest City—Central Oklahoma For starters, it gets hot and humid in the summer in Oklahoma. But you can counter those hot, humid summers by cooling off with a trip to Reno Swim and Slide, a new million-dollar water park right in Midwest City. If sports are what you’re into, visit the Carl Hubbell Museum for a history lesson on the famous New York Giants left-handed pitcher. Or even better, go see a live game at the Bricktown Ballpark in Downtown Oklahoma City, just a few minutes away off Interstate-40. Another favorite spot is the Oklahoma City Zoo, one of the top zoos in the country for families. The Science Museum, Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum, and Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse are all great places nearby in Oklahoma City to go for fun hands-on learning, family gatherings, or birthday parties. Kids will also love the annual Holiday Lights Festival, as Joe B. Barnes Regional Park transitions into a spectacular show of more than a million lights in 90 different displays, including a 118-foot Christmas tree all lit up. Carriage rides take you through the park for a full view of the colorful lights. For the adults, Midwest City’s John Conrad Regional Golf Course has been awarded four-stars. Or, spend a relaxing afternoon at Lake Stanley Draper and have a picnic, go fishing, biking, or boating. Overall, there are lots of different activities for the whole family close by. Visit the Midwest City website and the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce for information on schools and setting up utilities.
