(FORT SMITH, Arkansas, May 22, 2003) — ABF U-Pack Moving announces the creation of its corporate relocation department — an extension of its popular “you pack, we drive, you save” service. U-Pack now offers the relocation industry a cost-effective alternative to the more expensive, traditional moving services.

“In this tight economy, corporations are seeking creative ways to reduce expenses and stretch their budgets including a shift toward lump-sum relocation packages. U-Pack is far less expensive than full-service moving companies and similar in price to truck rental, but without the hassle of the employee having to drive an unfamiliar truck. U-Pack is a particularly good fit for companies who utilize a tiered relocation formula for their new hires and college graduates. With U-Pack's proven track record and high consumer satisfaction rates, we are well-positioned for aggressive expansion into this growing corporate segment of the moving industry,” said Kay Lynn Clay, manager of U-Pack.

Using the U-Pack service, a relocating employee packs and loads their belongings, and ABF transports the trailer across country to the new residence. Compared to truck rental, the “you pack, they drive” option offers more reliable pricing because gas, taxes and tolls are included in the price estimate. Also, because the U-Pack price is based upon the actual space used, the customer never pays for empty trailer space. Most importantly, the customer/employee does not have to drive the rental truck across country – an experience that can be both stressful and inconvenient.

Mark Jones of Maryville, Illinois relocated for his employer and selected U-Pack as a way to save money. “If a person is being moved by a company that does not have the budget for a full-service move, ABF U-Pack is the way to go. My church moved me from Colorado Springs to Illinois, and everything came off without a hitch. Plus, I had originally booked 100 percent of the space on two trailers, but ended up using 9-feet less on one of the trailers. I received a refund for that unused space. Talk about a deal. It does not get any fairer than this. I highly recommend this company,” said Mr. Jones.

The new U-Pack Corporate Relocation department is focused on providing customized solutions tailored to each company's specific needs. “We help each corporate customer meet their goals by listening to their requirements — working within their already established relocation programs or developing a completely new relocation plan,” Ms. Clay said. “For some customers, we become their primary source for moving services, for others, U-Pack is another option they can offer their employees.”

U-Pack provides customized solutions including flat rates, flexible billing, monthly/quarterly moving reports and even referrals of local labor to help pack and load the trailer for those employees unable to pack for themselves. All U-Pack corporate customers are provided with one phone number and a single coordinator to handle all of their questions.

To learn more about setting up a corporate relocation account with U-Pack, customers can go online at www.relocation.upack.com or call (877) 450-3608 to speak with a corporate relocation specialist.

“When a corporation sets up a relocation account, U-Pack will provide a supply of materials for the company representative to give to their relocating employees. Each package includes ‘how to' sheets, frequently asked questions and instructions for scheduling a move date. All materials are designed to make it easy for the relocating employee to use ABF U-Pack Moving,” Ms. Clay added.

The ABF U-Pack Moving service and Web site (upack.com) are provided by ABF Freight System, Inc., one of North America's largest and most experienced motor carriers, offering service to and from all 50 states, Mexico, nine Canadian provinces and Puerto Rico. The carrier has been in continuous service since 1923 and is the largest subsidiary of Arkansas Best Corporation (Nasdaq: ABFS).
